New volume is out: 14 (2025)

Dear readers, reviewers, authors, and editors of Ethnobiology and Conservation,

We are pleased to announce that Volume 14 (2025) is now available, featuring three thought-provoking articles.

In this issue, our Co-Editor-in-Chief, Ulysses Albuquerque, contributes an editorial addressing the current state of ethnobiology. He reflects on the discipline’s slower-than-expected progress, urging for more impactful applications of ethnobiological knowledge to tackle the challenges of our times.

The volume also includes a significant article by Rico Lenta and collaborators, discussing the challenges faced by ethnobiology in Argentina. The authors provide a detailed analysis of the current risks and obstacles the field is encountering in the region, making a strong case for urgent attention and action.

Additionally, Barbosa-Filho and collaborators present a comprehensive review on the non-food uses of sharks. Their work offers critical insights into how people  in Bahia (Brazil) have utilized sharks beyond dietary purposes, adding depth to the conversation about sustainable practices and conservation efforts.
